My mom called today. When asked how my morning was going, I informed her that it was a day to clean the beds. You see, our oldest daughter wet the bed. Then, I noticed that our dog, who's bed is next to our daughter's, had somehow received a bloody nose during the night and bled all over hers. I scrapped our school-clothes shopping spree, opting for a trip to the vet instead. However, I knew that plan would have to be postponed when I opened our youngest daughter's door and was greeted by the smell of barf. So much for my day.
All I have to say is Thank goodness for vinegar. I've heard people sing its praises for its uncanny ability to clean all sorts of things like hard water stains as well as its laundry-freshening power (ironic when you think about how bad the stuff smells in the first place). I did 7 or 8 loads of laundry today and added about 1/2 cup to the bedding as well as the whites. Everything is now clean and deodorized, and that--as Martha would say--is a good thing.
