Number One: Heeltastic
What can I say? Heeltastic is Fantastic! I describe it as Chapstick for your feet. You just rub it on cracked, dry feet and in about 2 weeks you won't be embarrassed to wear your sandals to that Memorial Day picnic. What worked for me is putting it on--at first--about 3 times a day and wearing socks for about 15 minutes each time. It took about a week for me to notice the results. Now, I just use it in the morning.
I buy mine at Sally Beauty Supply, but I've seen it at Target and Wal*Mart for about ten bucks. I like this stuff because it can really help you stretch out the time between pedicures or simply make your feet look just like you've had one.
Number Two: Fake Hair
One snowy day in January put me over the edge. Before I knew it, I was hitting the "Confirm Reservation" for a week in Disney World for the Summer. Now, a Utah Winter freezes communication in many parts of one's brain, and it didn't occur to me just how hot and humid Florida can get in the summer. When I started to think about it, I figured I could deal with the heat by sporting the official hairdo of a Stay At Home Mom (and 6-year-olds everywhere)--the Ponytail.
One day, I was watching QVC. (It's one of my idiosyncrasies. I like to watch it while I workout--I have no idea why. I've only bought 3 or 4 things in my lifetime from it. I just like watching it. Go figure.) The host was selling something called "Hairdo" which is an elastic band with hair on it. I fell for the product Hook, Line, and Sinker. I could see myself standing in front of Cinderella's castle looking as disheveled as one can in 147% humidity. My make up was smudged, but doggoneit! My Hairdo looked good!
I've worn the toupee (because, come on. Let's be real. That's exactly what it is.) several times and have received TONS of compliments. Girls are always asking what I did to get my hair to look "like that". They're always shocked when I tell them it's totally fake. It's really easy to use. Put your hair in a dewdrop. Then, twist the Hairdo twice. Three seconds to chic.

Number Three: Awesome Boardshorts
As I type this a commericial for Jenny Craig comes on and the girl telling her story emerges from a swimming pool. She says something about "not having to anything to hide." My response, "Honey, I've got plenty to hide."
I actually read about the site BoardShortsWorld.com on a Budget forum on the Disney Vacation Planning site I've been frequenting. Someone recommended it, and like the Heeltastic, I was a bit hesitant at first because it sounded like a stupid name. Here's what I liked about the site. First, the products are all Made in the USA. I love that. Second, there are so many cute patterns, styles, and lengths of shorts. Third, you can order swatches of the fabrics ($4.99) to see what pattern would work best. (Be aware the pattern you like may not be available in the size or style you want. Happened to me--no big deal.) Finally, fast shipping. Gotta love that!
My shirts--the North Shore pattern in Navy and Khaki--arrived yesterday, and I could not be happier with them as will those who are at the pool with me this summer. Don't want to scare everybody off. If you go this route, I hope you find something you like.
